The Grove Methodist Church is called to respond to the Gospel of love in Jesus Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship, service and mission

Sunday Worship

Our Chapel was opened in 1868 and is a listed building. The present premises replaced a chapel which was built in 1796 on a site not far from the present one. That building served as both a worship centre and as the local school, until Featherbank School was opened.

Although Methodism was not brought to Horsforth by John Wesley, he did preach in the village and in the old Bell Chapel which stood on the Green.

The Grove congregation has Christians of many traditions and all are welcome to take a full part in all services.

Our Sunday services are held at:

  • 9.00am Holy Communion (first Sunday of every month)
  • 10.30am Morning Worship and J Team (family & parade service first Sunday of every month)
  • 6.00pm Evening Worship (alternating with Woodside Methodist Church)

Holy Communion is celebrated at both morning and evening services, as announced.

Holy Communion

"Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst." - John 6:35
